Andy’s story

“The seemingly straight forward concept of thinking about movement has made a massive difference to the way I spend my daily life. I work in an office and spend most of my working day in front of a computer. I have always suffered from some form of lower back pain. The Alexander Technique has armed me with a set of tools which have enabled me to eliminate my back pain completely.

I have also been able to apply the technique to other areas of life. I’ve applied the technique during my daily walk to work, as well as to more specialised activities like playing the bagpipes and running. All are now completed in a much more efficient, effective and enjoyable way.

The realisation that I can significantly change important aspects of my physical health by thinking about how I move is tremendously powerful. It has made me look at other aspects of my life like stress, parenting and happiness in a much more proactive and critical way.”
